1.5 hours around Guangzhou! A hidden lying-flat paradise in a 3-kilometer bamboo forest, people go wild with joy

Who understands! The Conghua homestay I had saved for half a year is finally booked! Passing through a 3-kilometer tunnel filled with the fragrance of bamboo leaves, breaking into the mid-mountain foothills of Phoenix Mountain, this secret place surrounded by bamboo forests and valleys really makes me want to stay here every day and be a "mountain dweller"~

🌿About the environment: A hidden oxygen bar deep in the bamboo forest

The homestay is tucked away in the Conghua mountains, occupying the mid-mountain slope exclusively, with privacy maxed out!

• On the way by car, you will pass through a 3-kilometer bamboo tunnel. In summer, roll down the window, and the breeze is filled with the fresh scent of bamboo leaves, instantly escaping the city’s heat;

• The public area’s water courtyard is amazing! The mirror-like pool reflects the entire bamboo forest. On sunny days, it looks like a spilled green palette. Wearing a light-colored dress for photos instantly gives you the same vibe as "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon";

• Waking up naturally to birdsong in the early morning, opening the window to see the valley and endless greenery, deep breaths bring the freshness of plants. People will truly love this peaceful "world-forgetting" tranquility~

🏡About the rooms: Healing corners to lie down and watch bamboo views

The rooms are my favorite wabi-sabi style! Raw wood furniture + handmade pottery, even the tissue box is bamboo woven, full of detailed touches~

• We stayed in the bamboo view duplex room, which comes with a super large viewing terrace! Sitting on the terrace, feeling the mountain breeze, looking at the opposite valley and bamboo forest, it feels like you are wrapped in greenery, so cozy you don’t want to move;

• Every room has floor-to-ceiling windows. The "Bamboo Shadow" room faces the valley directly. On rainy days, watch raindrops hit bamboo leaves; on sunny days, see sunlight filtering through bamboo gaps. It never gets boring to look at;

• Check-in includes a welcome tea snack—local Hakka lei cha and dried persimmons. One sip of lei cha instantly immerses you in the slow rhythm of the mountains and fields~

🍴About dining: Mountain flavors so good you’ll lick the plate

Don’t ask me what to eat in the mountains anymore! The dishes here totally blew me away~

• Breakfast is a Chinese set meal with a rich variety, very satisfying;

• For lunch and dinner, you must order bamboo tube rice and roast chicken! Ingredients are freshly picked locally. The bamboo tube rice carries a bamboo fragrance, and the roast chicken has crispy skin and tender inside. Eating it with the mountain breeze brings overwhelming happiness;

• If you don’t want a full meal, you can hang out at the homestay’s café or tea room and slowly spend an afternoon~

🛖About facilities: Suitable for families and couples

Don’t be fooled by the mountain location; the facilities are top-notch!

• Outdoors there is an open-air swimming pool and a heated massage hot tub. In summer, soak in the pool while watching the bamboo forest; in winter, warm up in the hot tub. Perfect atmosphere for couples’ dates;

• Families with kids don’t worry! There is a children’s playground where kids can play all afternoon;

• There’s also a chess room and tea room. Whether gathering with friends or a family vacation, you can find fun here~

📍Nearby activities: Unlock lots of fun within 15 minutes

Don’t want to just stay at the homestay? There are many things to do within a 10-15 minute drive!

1. Go to Zhengguo Old Street to eat wontons and fried wontons, and experience the local life vibe;

2. Hike at Baijianghu Forest Park, and in summer you can also try paddleboarding;

3. From June to July, you can have the homestay book orchard fruit picking for you, enjoying free picking of Sanhua plums;

4. On the way back, stop by Shimen National Forest Park to see the colorful Tianchi Lake, a perfect ending~

💡Tips:

• The temperature difference in the mountains is big, so bring a light jacket even in summer;

• Some road sections have weak signal, but the homestay WiFi is very stable, so you can relax without worry;

• Navigation to "Yunzhu Shan Lanxi Homestay" is super accurate, 1.5 hours drive straight from Guangzhou!

I really love this kind of "escape without escaping" place. It has the tranquility of the mountains and fields, plus comfortable facilities. People can fully relax here. Next time, I want to lie down and stay for 3 full days!
