Quiet Corners of Shamian Island — Where Time Slows Down

Wandering through Shamian Island felt like stepping into another era of Guangzhou — tree-lined boulevards, pastel colonial buildings, and that calm river breeze. We stopped by Starbucks inside one of the restored heritage houses, sipping coffee under the shade of old banyan trees. Afterwards, we wandered into the Our Lady of Lourdes Church, its pale spires framed by sunlight and green leaves — simple, graceful, and full of character.

It’s a side of Guangzhou that feels unhurried and quietly beautiful — perfect for photos, a slow stroll, or just soaking in the architecture that tells stories of a different time.
