This is the “Gyeongsangbuk-do Forest Environment Research Institute,” a hot place in Gyeongju these days.
It is also called Gyeongju Millennium Forest Garden and is a famous place that attracts the most visitors in summer and fall.
In summer, you can see the green metasequoia road, and in fall, you can see the charming metasequoia road with fallen leaves.

It was a research institute for forest protection such as investigating forest environments, propagating and preserving natural monument successor trees, and controlling pests and diseases. After that, it was transformed into a forest park open to the public in 2023. It is the fifth national garden in Korea and the first in Gyeongbuk to be created and managed by a local government.

🔅Free admission, and you can have a more detailed and deeper understanding of the forest through the forest interpretation program. The forest interpretation program is available through on-site registration or advance reservation at 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 2:00 PM from March to December.

🔅There are many photo zones in Gyeongju Millennium Forest Garden. Among them, the single-log bridge across the Metasequoia Road is by far the best. You have to wait in a long line to take a picture here. It is such a popular photo zone.

🔅 I recommend visiting on a weekday rather than a weekend. On weekends, the parking lot is almost full and cars are parked on the side of the road, so there are parking problems. If you go on a weekend, I recommend visiting early in the morning if possible. ‼️
