🎉 The National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays are coming soon, and it's the perfect time to watch the Qiantang River tide. You must see it at least once.
I was fascinated by the text "Watching the Tide" when I was a child. This time, I definitely want to see the rolling white waves forming a water wall more than two meters high, like thousands of white war horses charging side by side—a spectacular scene.
The best spot to watch the tide is Tide-Watching Scenic Park. Here, you can not only watch the tide but also enjoy the Grand Tide Music Carnival. I heard that this time, Yanguan Ancient City is going all out 🥮 by combining National Day, Mid-Autumn Festival, and tide-watching into the Grand Tide Music Carnival. From October 1 to October 13, the world-class natural wonder (Qiantang River Tide) will be deeply integrated with diverse modern music cultures (jazz, rock, electronic, etc.), creating a unique experience of "watching the tide while swaying to the music." As China’s first and only cross-scene music carnival held beside a world-class natural wonder (Qiantang River Tide), the event features six major music styles, 65 music parties, and 18 hours of nonstop fun. Enjoy the waves of music by day and the natural tide by night—an experience that can’t be replicated. It’s definitely a great outing with family and friends, and I’m a bit excited just thinking about it.
🏨 For tide-watching, I recommend staying at Xuandemen Hotel. This is a century-old residence surrounded by water on three sides, converted from the Zhu family’s old house. It has a private garden and is designed with Song Dynasty aesthetics, making it the top choice for those who love Chinese style and gardens. The hotel offers pier rooms, private garden rooms, and courtyard rooms. Guests also enjoy various benefits such as free shuttle tours and complimentary tickets.
🏨 The Lead Singer Music Resort Hotel is also great. It’s a luxurious five-star hotel built on the city wall, right next to Tide-Watching Scenic Park (under the Zhan’ao Tower in Yanguan). The Music Home Museum here is one of only three such museums worldwide. The rooms at Lead Singer Music Resort Hotel are decorated in Hermès orange tones, and the electric king beds come with AI air suspension mattresses worth nearly 30,000 yuan. The facilities are high-end and complete, offering a perfect vintage Chinese wealthy family vacation experience.
From October 1 to October 13, during the entire National Day holiday, the scenic area has prepared an amazing music carnival! There will be five top-level music performances every day, covering styles like neoclassical, jazz, folk, and electronic music.
Staying at Lead Singer Music Resort Hotel also includes free tickets and free shuttle bus rides.
If none of this catches your interest, you can also book official hotels under the name "Yanguan Tide Music City" on Trip.com (including Lead Singer, Xuandemen, Shuishi, and 8 guesthouses), all of which offer free tickets to Tide Music City. It’s really awesome.
Booking hotels starting with "Tide Music City" on Trip.com grants you exclusive benefits only available at official hotels.
