Haiyan | Stroll through Shendan, the town from Yu Hua's writings

We took the kids on a one-day trip to Haiyan, and our first stop was Shendan Ancient Town. The popular Shengli Restaurant had a long queue when we arrived at 9:45 am. We got number B09 and finally got a table at 11:45 am, just so you know. It's best to arrive as early as possible.

After getting a number, you can stroll around the ancient town, walk through the small streets, cross the small bridges, and take photos at the big character wall near Shendan Coffee. We tried the White Soy Sauce Popsicle (18 CNY, a salty-sweet flavor that wasn't bad) and enjoyed the peach blossoms.

Including lunch, the whole trip took about three hours, so half a day is enough.
