Lake Ashi was pure tranquility. Surrounded by mountains, the calm waters reflected the clouds like a mirror. I took a cruise on one of the pirate-style ships, which was both fun and scenic. The sight of Mt. Fuji rising behind the Hakone Shrine’s red torii gate on the shore was unforgettable — like a postcard come to life. Walking along the lakeside trails, I enjoyed the fresh mountain air and the peaceful sounds of nature. Lake Ashi offers both adventure and serenity, making it one of Hakone’s gems. #mytraveldiary
