Nestled in the heart of Hakone’s lush nature, Nicolai Bergmann Hakone Gardens offers a peaceful escape where art, flowers, and landscape blend beautifully. After paying the entrance fee, we headed straight to NOMU hakone, the on-site restaurant. You can enjoy your meal indoors or opt for a takeout picnic basket to enjoy in the garden’s many pavilions and benches—such a cute idea!

We ordered the BLT sandwich and sangria. Since the weather was quite hot that day, we stayed inside, but the sandwich was honestly one of the best I’ve had—crispy, savory, and packed with flavor. Once our stomachs were happy, we took a slow walk through the garden, soaking in the summer greens, the gentle songs of birds, and beautiful seasonal flowers like hydrangeas. It was the kind of afternoon that fills you with calm and gratitude.
