On the banks of the Qiantang River, The Luxury Collection Hangzhou, Qiantang stands out with its unique design. For years, it has been a popular, photogenic hotel in Hangzhou, where every shot is frame-worthy. This return visit brought a new surprise: the elegant new bar in the lobby adds a fashionable ambiance and another perfect photo spot.

🏘️ Room Type/Layout

I checked in midweek for ¥850 and was assigned a 270-degree river-view room (Room Type 02). At approximately 80 square meters, the room was incredibly spacious. One side offered stunning river views, while the other overlooked the residential area. The overall layout was grand, with efficient use of space, creating a comfortable atmosphere.

1. Room Facilities: The room boasts high-quality furnishings, with a distinctive blue and white color scheme. A Dyson hairdryer, a spa bathtub, and full room controls (in suites) demonstrate attention to detail. The soft bedding and large corner sofa provide instant comfort.
2. Public Areas: While not extensive, the public areas are exquisitely designed. The corridor leading to the wellness area is unique, resembling a mystical palace.
3. Dining Experience: I was fortunate to attend the 10th-anniversary gala dinner, themed "A Decade of Brilliance, Tides of Prosperity," which also served as the launch event for the Lan Ting Chinese Restaurant team. Chef Yu Bin's "Taste of Zhejiang" menu showcased a feast of delicacies from the East China Sea fishing season. The eight cold dishes were each distinctive, while the hot dishes, such as the East China Sea yellow croaker paired with Thousand Island Lake chili peppers, offered a rich tapestry of flavors. The steamed red prawns highlighted their natural sweetness. The dim sum, main courses, and desserts were also commendable, with innovative creations like the Lan Ting handmade crispy snowflake beef mooncakes.
4. Areas for Improvement: There's room for improvement in service and maintenance. Stains were found on the bathrobe and coffee cups, the automatic curtains occasionally jammed, the happy hour offered limited hot dishes, and the welcome fruit and turndown service were only provided upon request.

🧹 Soundproofing/Cleanliness

The soundproofing was excellent, effectively blocking outside noise. However, cleanliness could be improved, as evidenced by the aforementioned stains on the bathrobe and coffee cups.

The midweek room rate was ¥850. Prices vary depending on the time of year and room type. Dining and other expenses are additional. The overall cost depends on individual spending habits. Considering the river view and the quality of the facilities, the price offers competitive value.
