The Summer of Yuhu Bay: So Green It Needs No Filter

Yuhu Bay, a hidden gem on the west side of West Lake, is one of the scenic inspirations for Huang Gongwang's Song Dynasty masterpiece "Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains" and also a filming location for Leslie Cheung's movie "Temptress Moon."

It is often said that the West Lake in the rain surpasses its beauty on sunny days. After a rain, when the mist lingers, the reflection of Wuzhuangyuan Archway and the corridor bridge creates a picturesque ink painting. Although I missed the rainy-day charm during my visit, the interplay of light and shadow on a sunny summer day at Yuhu Bay has its own unique allure.

The entire route is shaded by lush greenery, and even the harshest sunlight filters through the leaves, creating a playful dance of light and shadow that feels much gentler.
