🌅🚣‍♀️ Chaohu Lake

Chaohu felt endless. One of China’s largest freshwater lakes, it spread out in every direction like a shimmering mirror. We walked along the promenade with the breeze in our hair and the sound of gentle waves lapping against the shore. Locals were fishing quietly, boats floated lazily past, and the late afternoon light painted everything gold. 🌊🎣🌇

We stopped at a lakeside tea stall, watching the sky slowly shift colors while sipping something warm. There was a peace to it all the kind that sinks in without needing to be explained. People say Chaohu is best known for its seafood, and they’re right the grilled fish we tried later was tender and flavorful, just salty enough to remind you the lake was right there beside you. 🐟🍵🧡
