Who would have thought that “Visiting Shaolin Temple” 🇨🇳 would become the beginning of a serious illness that required hospitalization in China! 😷
📍 Starting at Shaolin Temple — So excited, didn’t check the weather ❌ It was freezing cold but ended up wearing a thin shirt and red pants to celebrate Chinese New Year ❤️🔥
🧊 First time seeing snow…it was the best!
• Making snow, throwing snow, lying down ⛄️ I forgot I wasn’t dressed for the cold!
🚑 The result…fever of 39+ degrees 🤒 Shivering all night
• Bedridden for 7 days before deciding to go to Xuchang Longyao Hospital
• The doctor said it was hypothermia from the extreme cold 🧊
👩🏻⚕️ The doctors and nurses all spoke Chinese. Luckily, my boyfriend helped me through every step. 🫶
💡 Big Lesson:
1. Snow is only fun when you play After that, it's hell 🥲
2. A winter coat must "suffer" ❄️
3. Gloves, scarves, and thermal bags must always be carried 🧤🧣
4. Travel insurance "should always be" included. Even though we paid almost 2,000 this time, it was very difficult to claim. 🌀
It's a waste of money, but I still think that it should be included on every trip because anything can happen.
📌 Summary: Chinese hospitals take good care of us, the nurses are kind, and the system is okay.
But the best thing is... Be prepared before the snow! 🧳❄️
