Ho Chi Minh City General Post Office (Saigon Central)

Address: 2 Công xã Paris, Bến Nghé, Quận 1, Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh.
Location: Opposite Saigon's Notre Dame Cathedral, in the heart of the tourist district.
Hours: Mon-Fri: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sat-Sun: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM. This is not just a functional post office, but one of the city's main historical and architectural landmarks. The building was constructed between 1886 and 1891 by the French. Often mistakenly attributed to the famous architect Gustave Eiffel, it was actually designed by Alfred Foulou, another French architect. The style is a mixture of neoclassical, Renaissance, and Gothic elements, with a clear oriental influence (visible in the map details and decorations).
The main reason tourists come here is to send letters and postcards. You can buy beautiful postcards and stamps and send them directly from here to anywhere in the world. There's a special postcard writing desk. I took the photos especially for this post to give you a sense of the old days. #SaigonCentralPostOffice
