ศิลปะเก่าแก่กว่าพันปี The Golden Dragon Water

📍 The Golden Dragon Water Puppet Theater, Vietnam

🌉 When it comes to Vietnam, many people might think of fragrant coffee, Hanoi's old streets, night markets, or fresh Vietnamese food. But another must-see is water puppetry, an ancient folk art that dates back to the 11th century. One of Vietnam's most famous theaters is the Golden Dragon Water Puppet Theater in Ho Chi Minh City. This is a must-see destination for almost every tourist, or else it's like you haven't even been to Vietnam. This art originated when farmers spent their free time after the rice harvest, turning the water from their paddy fields into a stage for wooden puppets to tell stories of local legends, history, and daily life. This unique Vietnamese performance is unique. Each puppet is beautifully carved from wood, beautifully painted, and controlled by a puppeteer behind the scenes, using a wooden lever and mechanism hidden underwater. This creates a lifelike, moving puppet-like experience. 👍🏻💦 The Golden Dragon Theater isn't as large as an opera hall, but rather a small, cozy theater with a seating capacity of around 300. The interior is arranged with chairs that clearly show the stage from every angle. The seats are comfortable and cushioned, not cramped. The stage is a shallow pond in front, with a carved wooden screen in traditional Vietnamese patterns at the back. During puppet shows, a live band plays off the side, using traditional instruments such as the đàn bầu (dān bao) and various drums. The music, combined with the traditional vocals, creates a truly immersive and charming atmosphere.
