Strolling and Enjoying the Scenery in Hokkaido

Hokkaido is known for its cool and pleasant summer, attracting tourists from various places to visit and relax.

In winter, it snows a lot and stays cold for about half a year (from late November to early April). Although the average temperature is around 22°C, from January to February, the temperature can drop significantly to around -12°C to -4°C, which is when we visited.

During winter, the Sea of Okhotsk on the eastern side of the island freezes, making sea travel quite difficult. Icebreakers are needed, and our tour included an icebreaker ride, which I will review later. ⛴️⛴️
Fishing activities have to wait until the end of winter.

Since Hokkaido is a snowy land, the city of Sapporo holds an annual snow festival in early February. It's a grand event, featuring sculptures of ancient Thai temples and castles. I'll review it later. 🫠😉
