Yao Yao Who Looks Back Again and Again

Everyone's been heading north to shop lately, but most workers only get to work a couple of days during the holidays. They still have to spend their dinners in Hong Kong.

I love pickled fish, so if I want it, I'll definitely go back to Yaoyao.

During the evening market, there were still quite a few customers, but noticeably fewer than during the pandemic. I ordered the spicy hot pot, as I always do because spiciness helps keep the cold out. It was actually quite satisfying after eating.
This time, I chose Chongqing crispy pork, crispy pork intestines, tea tree mushrooms, squid tentacles, and cauliflower.

The plate was overflowing with flavor: the crispy pork was fragrant, the pork intestines were slightly charred and crispy, the tea tree mushrooms were chewy, the cauliflower was sweet, and the squid tentacles were springy. Combined with the various chili condiments, the dish was fragrant, spicy, and numbing. It was a satisfying meal!

The portion size remained the same, and the flavor was just as good. The two-piece combo lets you satisfy two desires in one. The fish fillet was generous, large, and tender, and there was plenty of pickled cabbage! The broth had a subtle sesame aroma without feeling greasy.

The beef was thick and smooth, and the spicy flavor was incredibly appealing! The spice was just the right amount, with a hint of numbing heat. There were plenty of bean sprouts underneath, and the chewy, tender, and smooth potato vermicelli was one of the best I've ever had!

Finally, I had a rainbow oolong ice jelly to help with the spiciness, and I was completely satisfied! This ice jelly is another reason I keep coming back for more; it's even higher quality than dessert shops and a must-try.

I've had it several times and still find it incredibly cost-effective. Although I still go back to the mainland for the pickled fish, I still return to Lai Yao Yao whenever I crave it on weekdays!
