On our way to Puerto Princesa, we made an unplanned stop at a breathtaking mountain viewpoint. The weather was a bit unpredictable light rain had just passed, and the clouds were hanging low, gently wrapping around the mountain peaks. It was one of those rare, peaceful moments in nature that you just can’t drive past. So, we pulled over and took a few minutes to soak it all in.

Later, after checking in at our hotel, I got curious about the mountain and looked it up. That’s when I found out it’s called Elephant Mountain and yes, it’s possible to get a closer view of it! Knowing that made the whole moment feel even more special.
That’s the beauty of traveling slowly. Sometimes, it’s not about rushing from one destination to the next it’s about the little stops in between, the quiet surprises you stumble upon. Renting a bike from Puerto Princesa City to the Underground River gives you the freedom to enjoy these moments. You’re not stuck in a van or on a strict schedule, you can pull over anytime, breathe in the fresh air, and connect with the landscape around you.

Highly recommend taking the scenic route and going at your own pace. Nature always has something magical to offer if you’re willing to pause and look.
