Not Beginner-Friendly! Who Said Pat Sin Leng Was Easy? Show Yourself!

Seriously, who told me Pat Sin Leng was good for beginners? I'm exhausted after finishing it and it took me a week to recover enough to write this survival guide. 😭

🚍 Transportation Guide
From Fanling MTR Station Exit C, take minibus 52B to Hok Tau Yuen (the last stop). The trailhead is right there, super convenient~

🗺️ Route Options
🔴 Hell Mode: Hok Tau Campsite - Hok Tau Reservoir - Ping Fung Shan - Wong Leng - Pat Sin Leng - Tai Mei Tuk (6+ hours)
This 11.2 km route has a total ascent of 903m, a total descent of 889m, a peak elevation of 613m, and a maximum slope of 19%!! Perfect for those who want to challenge the Wilson Trail. The trail is full of stairs, steep slopes, and scree; my hiking poles were lifesavers.

⚠️ Lessons Learned the Hard Way
1️⃣ Wear non-slip shoes!! Otherwise, you'll be sliding down the slopes.
2️⃣ Bring at least 2L of water, plus salt tablets and food. There are no supply points along the way, so you have to carry everything yourself.
3️⃣ Cell service is terrible here. Download offline maps beforehand, or you'll be lost and stranded.

But honestly, spring is the perfect season for hiking. The weather is cool and comfortable. On a sunny day, the scenery is absolutely stunning. 🥰 Although I was exhausted, the views were incredibly rewarding. After this hike, I bought a bunch of new outdoor gear, ready for my next painful but enjoyable hike~
