On a whim, I wanted to eat yakiniku, so I checked openrice for any new restaurants and found Miyazaki, which had moved to Tin Hau. So, why not give it a try~
I chose the $680 set, which was quite abundant. I like this place mainly because lazy people like me can just sit and wait for the food; the staff does all the grilling, so just sitting and waiting to eat is pure bliss!!!
The three appetizers included red wine-braised mushrooms, black truffle lobster tofu, and salted tomatoes.
The mentaiko chicken salad was very refreshing. The eel and beef tartare were slightly spicy and flavorful.
The A5 Miyazaki beef three-course set started with the front leg meat, which had a stronger beef flavor and a fibrous texture. The triangular brisket was thicker than the former, rich and chewy. The monk’s head cut was the richest, bursting with buttery beef aroma!
The vegetable platter included super sweet sweet potatoes and corn!
Because we booked in advance, they gave us crab roe pan-fried scallops!!! What a surprise~ The scallops were thick and bouncy, and the crab roe was fragrant.
Plum scallop sashimi had a sweet and sour plum sauce, and the scallops were delicious even without dipping sauce.
Grilled whole netted beef tongue was crispy and chewy, served with three different sauces: garlic sauce, green pepper sauce, and fruity yakiniku sauce, making it hard to stop eating!
Wagyu French bread had sweet bites of wagyu in every piece.
Matsuba crab miso shell grill, eaten with soda crackers, was not greasy at all!
Japanese black shichimi chicken neck meat was quite spicy but crunchy and refreshing!
To cleanse the palate, we had a clear clam soup.
The A5 Miyazaki beef three-course set continued with shoulder meat, which was very flavorful, and the inner hind leg meat was super thick, visibly fatty, and bursting with buttery richness! Luckily, there was sukiyaki rice to wash down the flavors with white rice and egg mixture.
Then there was Japanese cold noodles, but I was already full and gave them to my boyfriend!
Finally, I used another stomach for the dessert of the day: cherries and melon were very sweet, ending with grilled sweet potato paired with cheesecake.
The ladies at the next table were celebrating a birthday, and the dessert prepared by the restaurant was stunning! After taking photos, they all left together. We thought they went out for a smoke, but when we paid and stepped outside, we saw the birthday person's name displayed on the restaurant sign. It was very thoughtful, and I think anyone who sees it would be truly surprised!!!
