A bright and stylish new Western-style cafe in Tsim Sha Tsui
On Sunday, a weekend off, I took my friends Puffy, Usagi, and Shisa to Chiikawa Day in Tsim Sha Tsui. We then went to a nearby Western restaurant with a simple, earthy-toned decor. It exuded a hipster vibe and was packed with young people and families for dinner, dessert, and coffee. The prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was comfortable, making it a great place for a meal.
Appetizers: Salad, Corn Soup, and Buns
The appetizers included salad, corn soup, and buns. The corn soup, made with corn and cream, was rich and flavorful. The salad seemed overly vinegary, but the vegetables were fresh, and the buns were served warm.
Seared Hokkaido Scallops with Pumpkin Cream Risotto
The pumpkin cream risotto was rich and smooth. The chef steamed the pumpkin until pureed, then simmered it with sautéed onions, risotto, white wine, and chicken broth. Finally, cream, cheese, and butter were added and mixed until the rice was cooked through. The chicken absorbed the broth until it became soft and chewy, and the Hokkaido scallops added the perfect finishing touch.
Vanilla Honey Roast Chicken
After waiting for about 30 minutes, the roast chicken finally arrived. The skin was roasted to a golden crisp, smothered in a generous amount of honey, and complemented by the delicate aroma of vanilla. It was a simple yet flavorful roast chicken. Gently cut it open, and the juices ooze out. Paired with the broccoli and corn on the side, it creates a rich and complex dish.
Tortilla Chips with Carnitas Sauce
The tortilla chips paired with the minced beef sauce are incredibly flavorful, a great choice for those who enjoy light meals.
