《 Mirror of the Sky on an Uninhabited Island》
After a week of fighting, we hope to find an uninhabited place for our two little friends to walk around.
Thanks to a friend for introducing an uninhabited island - Sai Kung Sha Ha Beach.
We unexpectedly discovered that this is a place with a mirror of the sky.
On both sides of Sha Ha Beach are canoe rental shops and barbecue restaurants.
The mudflat in the middle is just right.
The place is not too big but there are few people.
We can take off our masks for the time being to breathe the free air.
Before going, check the Observatory app to see today's tides🌊
Today's lowest low tide time is 1520.
We arrived before 4 o'clock.
It is still low tide.
The natural ecology is so amazing.
There are thousands of tiny hermit crabs🐚 on the mudflats.
Moving quietly in the water.
There are many star prints in the sand.
Looking closer, they turned out to be starfish! ⭐️
The two little ones enjoyed the mudflats very much.
They simply touched the clams and searched for treasures.
They splashed water and dug in the mud.
They were reluctant to leave.
Shaxiatan is a good place for parents and children.
You can also take the opportunity to teach your children about astronomy, science, and nature😉
🔔Tips for departure🔔
1. Be sure to pay attention to the tide rise and fall times announced by the Observatory, which are different every day. I initially thought the tide would recede at dusk, but it turned out that it had receded at 15:20 today, and by 16:30 the tide had risen a lot.
2. It is recommended that children wear shoes (which need to be washed in advance) because there are many shells and oyster shells on the mudflats, and the feet will get stuck in the mud. If you wear sandals or slippers, it is easy to get hurt.
3. Transportation: - If you start from the center of Sai Kung, walk along the coast for 20 minutes. You will see the roadside of "Sha Ha Road" on the left. There is a staircase on the right that leads down to the beach. It is only accessible at low tide.
4. Drivers can park at Shaxia Road. Parking is available at the entrance of Shitan. There is also a private parking lot A next to it. Parking also includes free shower service.
5. There are no shower facilities on the mud beach.
6. If you want to see starfish, you must arrive at the lowest tide. Starfish cannot be seen when the water rises.

🗝Small additions to ecological conservation🗝
1. Starfish and mud are the same color for protection, be careful not to step on them
2. Watch with your eyes, don't touch with your hands
3. Appreciation is the main premise, don't take any creatures away, don't trample, touch or hurt them alone
4. Feel the fun of touching clams, and put them back
5. Don't leave any garbage
6. Please protect the beautiful ecology of Hong Kong together
