Huizhou Shuangyue Bay Vacation Diary

🚄 Travel: Took the high-speed train from Changsha to Shenzhen North (transfer) to Huidong South. The whole trip took about 3.5 hours. Then it’s about a 40-minute taxi ride from Huidong South to Shuangyue Bay. (Changsha also has direct high-speed trains to other Huizhou stations, but they all take over 4 hours, and Huizhou really has quite a few high-speed train stations. From any other station, it takes over an hour to get to Shuangyue Bay. Huidong South is the closest high-speed train station to Shuangyue Bay.)
📝 Itinerary: A 3-day, 2-night trip with kids. Didn’t want anything too intense, mainly focused on vacation, so only visited two places. 1️⃣ The first is Turtle Island 🐢, which I highly recommend. The seaside boardwalk is really beautiful 🌊. Tickets are 30 RMB per person. I suggest buying a round-trip sightseeing bus ticket right at the entrance; otherwise, you’ll have to walk a long way. 2️⃣ The second is Shailang Bar & Restaurant. Sitting here instantly brings back the vibe from last year in Wanning. Having afternoon tea and watching the sunset here is really chill 🍹. Great for photos too. The beach here has super fine and soft sand, and there are many water activities to enjoy. It’s quite lively ☀️.
🏨 Accommodation: This time we stayed at Shuangyue Bay Tanshe. The hotel is not very large and offers butler-style service. When you check in, the butler creates a group chat where you can communicate any needs and get timely responses. They provide complimentary afternoon tea 🍰 every day and send goodnight desserts 🫕 before bed. You can also order breakfast to be delivered to your room. Overall, the service is quite good. I especially loved the courtyard sea view 😍. Sitting here every morning for breakfast really lifts your mood 🥰. The view stretches out to the pool, beach, and sea 🌊. The beach here is a private hotel beach, so it’s not crowded and very quiet. The only downside is the sand is a bit coarse 😂. In the evening, many people set off fireworks by the sea, creating a nice atmosphere 🎆. If you want a quiet vacation to relax for a couple of days, this is a great choice 🧉.
