What is the Shimanami Kaido?

The Setouchi Shimanami Kaido is a 60km long expressway that connects Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture and Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture.

It connects six beautiful islands floating in the Seto Inland Sea with bridges, and you can enjoy cycling while looking at the beauty of the islands below!

The Kirosan Observatory is an observation park at the top of Kirosan (307.8m above sea level) and is a popular view spot on the Shimanami Kaido!

It is also famous as a sacred place for lovers, and many padlocks with couples' names written on them are attached!
