A must-visit seaside village in your lifetime

When thinking of traveling to Japan, places like Osaka, Tokyo, and Fukuoka often come to mind. However, this time, I visited a small seaside town in Japan that you must visit at least once in your life 🥹.

To be honest, it’s not an easy place to get to due to the long travel time 😅. After much anticipation, I finally made the trip 👀. The place is called 'Ine no Funaya' ;).

○🚌 (Kyoto Station ▶︎ Amanohashidate)
→ Take the express bus from Kyoto Station heading towards Amanohashidate, Miyazu, or Kyotan.
→ Approximately 2 hours
→ One-way fare: 3,200 yen
※ Based on departure from Kyoto Station
❗️ There are only 5 buses each way daily. Seats may sell out quickly, leaving only 1-2 seats available on the day of travel. I recommend reserving your seat in advance online or by phone. (I managed to get the last seat on the first bus and the 16:20 bus on the same day 🫢 Lucky me 🍀).

○🚍 (Amanohashidate ▶︎ Ine no Funaya)
→ Take the Ine Line bus from Amanohashidate Station
→ Approximately 1 hour
→ One-way fare: 400 yen

The scenery I had only seen in pictures unfolded before my eyes, leaving me in awe. The beautiful color of the sea was another breathtaking moment. Perhaps because of the long travel time, there were noticeably fewer tourists compared to popular destinations, allowing for a more leisurely sightseeing experience 🙊.

○⚠️
Since there are so few buses, and seats fill up quickly without reservations, you might find yourself unable to board. In such cases, you can take a train from Amanohashidate Station back to Kyoto Station. However, the fare varies greatly, so make sure to check beforehand 👀. It can range from 3,400 to 6,800 yen.

This is a perfect place for a day trip. If you're traveling in Kyoto, why not dedicate a day to visit Ine no Funaya?

📍Ine no Funaya
〒626-0423 Kyoto Prefecture, Yosa District, Ine Town, Hirata
