Step into the Edo time machine! Inuyama IMASEN Karakuri Miuji Amusement 🏮⏳
Turning a corner in Inuyama Old Street, I walked into the ingenious [IMASEN Inuyama Karakuri Miuji Amusement Tamaya Sobei Workshop]. This is a museum dedicated to the art and history of "mechanical dolls" (Karakuri dolls), and it is also the studio of the ninth generation master Tamaya Sobei. From the Edo period to the present, this traditional craft has been passed down for more than 300 years and is one of the representatives of Japan's intangible cultural assets.
In the museum, you can not only appreciate the exquisite dolls with complex mechanisms up close, but also watch the live demonstrations of craftsmen, and even experience the simple production of Karakuri with your own hands! My favorite is the little doll that can pour tea automatically. Watching it serve tea to guests elegantly is amazing.
This is not just a museum, but more like a wonderful journey through Edo. Recommended to all friends who are interested in traditional Japanese crafts!
📍Place check-in: IMASEN Inuyama Karakuri Doll
Address: 62 Higashikoken, Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture (In Inuyama Castle Town)
