An ancient step well located near Amber Fort is another must-see attraction in Jaipur. The guards are there to stop tourists from going down for safety reasons. This step well is not just about water. It is a work of art with intricate carvings and 1,800 colourful steps leading up to a cool and refreshing pool.

The criss-crossed steps add to the wow factor and the four octagonal pavilions at the corners create a tranquil atmosphere. Once a major source of water for the community and a meeting place for the locals, the step well is now a popular escape from the city and a popular spot for locals and a great place to take pictures.
