Visit Ogijima and Megijima for the Setouchi Triennale Art Festival!

In 2025, the Setouchi Triennale Art Festival will take place, and tickets are already available. Ogijima and Megijima are must-see destinations during this event. Outside the festival period, only outdoor artworks are accessible, so it's best to plan your visit for next year. You can make a day trip from Takamatsu.

Megijima, with a population of about 100, is said to be the inspiration for the demon island in the Momotaro legend. Notable artworks include:
1. "20th Century Recall" - A triangular piano with four sails, creating a romantic blend of waves and melodies.
2. "Seagull Parking Lot" - Seagull signboards on the breakwater that change direction with the wind.
3. "Terraced Wind" - 400 ceramic pieces integrated into the landscape of former terraced fields.
4. "Onigashima Cave" - Features demon tiles made by local students; it's a bit far and not very interesting, but reportedly cool inside.
