Gimnyeong Beach and Woljeongri Beach are both located in the northeast of Jeju Island. The two beaches are not far apart and can be passed by on the way from Jeju city to Seongsan Ilchulbong.

Gimnyeong Village is named after its flat and peaceful terrain, and the beach nearby is therefore called "Gimnyeong Seongsegi Beach".
