Savoring Jeju’s Star: Hairtail Fish

We were eager to try Jeju Hairtail fish, so we headed to Jeju Galchi Handam as per recommendation. Located on Aewol Cafe Street in one of alley streets Bomnal cafe . Jeju Galchi Handam quickly became one of our favorite dining spots for Hairtail fish! It wasn't crowded since we arrived early after enjoying coffee at Bomnal cafe and taking a leisurely stroll along the beach. We noticed a wall adorned with celebrity signatures!

We ordered the set menu, which included both grilled and braised hairtail fish - a match made in heaven! The set came with abalone porridge, stir-fried pork, grilled mackerel, steamed egg, seaweed rice, and more. The grilled mackerel was a highlight among the side dishes, with its plump, chewy texture and perfect seasoning.

The stars of the show were finally served. The grilled fish was served sizzling hot with a perfectly charred exterior and tender, flaky flesh. The braised Hairtail fish was part of a hearty seafood medley featuring prawns, squid, and abalone, all slow-cooked in a rich and savory broth. The staff came to remove the bones and cut the fish into smaller pieces - such thoughtful service! Each bite was a delight with a mix of textures and flavors that left us wanting more.

Jeju Galchi Handam might be a bit far from the airport, but its stunning beach views and mouth-watering dishes make it a must-visit for seafood enthusiasts and anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. Don't miss it!
