Mulyeongari Oreum Wetland (selected crater lake, 300m in circumference, 40ml in depth) has the characteristics of a crater circle and a typical temperate mountain wetland, and has excellent biological, topographic, seismic, and landscape values, so it was the first wetland protection area designated nationwide after the Wetland Conservation Act was enacted.

The Mulyeongari Oreum Wetland Protection Area is home to various animals and plants, such as the long-tailed tit, the Vivari snake, and other endangered wild animals designated by the Ministry of Environment. It has a unique moisture environment, such as forming a crater lake during the rainy season and changing into a wetland during the dry season, and it is an area with very high academic value where you can study the process of terrestrialization of wetlands in the crater, the circulation of ecological substances, etc.
