Seeing Xipo Jiangshan, "Xanadu" has a concrete location.

🌸 After endless mountains and rivers that leave doubt about the path ahead, suddenly there appears before you, a village nestled amidst willow trees and bright flowers.
This phrase kept echoing in my mind as I saw Xipo Jiangshan.
Although the highway leads directly there, the winding mountain roads, thick with bamboo forests, made me doubt the existence of the place in the photos.

🚙 As the car rounded the last bend, the view suddenly opened up, and my doubts vanished… Arriving at sunset, I saw lush green terraces dotted with several rammed-earth houses, a vivid pastoral scene.

🏠 Because I loved this quaint and exquisite courtyard so much, I looked up a lot of information about it———
🍓 Xipo Jiangshan has three courtyards, all decades-old rammed-earth houses, named Beside the Stream, In the Mountains, and In the Fields, according to the scenery outside their windows.

🍓 The courtyards preserve the original features of the old rammed-earth houses to the greatest extent possible. To avoid disturbing the old structure, the original wooden frames have been retained, even the windows have been carefully opened, and the clouds outside the patio, the trees at the door, are all meticulously designed yet full of natural charm.

🍓 Their article says: "What we are restoring, little by little, is not just the visible architecture, but also the lifestyle that people miss so much. We choose to preserve the original simplicity and purity of the village, and we hope to integrate a bit of avant-garde and modern living. It is livable, relaxed, and free."

😋 And I, eating local dishes in the enclosed courtyard, watching the tree at the door sway in the wind, couldn't help but marvel at the determination, perseverance, aesthetics, and organizational skills required to complete such a wonderful work.
