Transportation Guide
External Transportation
● Self-driving: Starting from downtown Jinan, take Jing Shi West Road or other main roads, and you can reach Changqing in about half an hour to an hour. The road conditions are good, and the scenery along the way is nice.
● Public transportation: You can take Jinan Metro Line 1, which directly reaches parts of Changqing; there are also many bus routes running between the city and Changqing.
Internal Transportation
● Bus: Changqing’s buses reach most attractions, with relatively frequent service, making travel convenient.
● Taxi: Taxi fares in Changqing are affordable, but during peak tourist seasons, it might be difficult to get a taxi.

Lingyan Temple
Lingyan Temple is Changqing’s signature attraction. It is a World Cultural Heritage site and one of China’s Four Great Buddhist Temples. Here, ancient trees tower, stone steles stand densely, and the halls are magnificent. Walking into the temple feels like traveling back in time, experiencing the weight of history and the solemnity of Buddhist culture. The Thousand Buddha Hall houses 40 colorful Song Dynasty clay Arhat statues, praised by Liang Qichao as “the finest sculptures in the country.” Each statue is vivid and unique, showcasing the superb craftsmanship of ancient artisans. Admission is 40 RMB, open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Wufeng Mountain
Wufeng Mountain is named after its five parallel peaks. The area boasts clear mountains, clean water, and fresh air, making it a natural oxygen bar. There are many Taoist temples and ancient buildings on the mountain, such as Dongzhen Temple, full of mysterious Taoist cultural atmosphere. You can stroll along the hiking trails, enjoy the mountain views, breathe fresh air, and feel the tranquility and beauty of nature. Admission is 40 RMB, open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Liantai Mountain
Liantai Mountain resembles a blooming lotus flower, surrounded by mountains and ridges. It features deep caves, clear streams, and dense forests, making it a great place for leisure and vacation. You can hike and explore on the mountain or find a quiet spot to sit, listen to birdsong, enjoy the scenery, and relax. Admission is 30 RMB, open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Changqing Lake
Changqing Lake is an artificial lake with clear water and beautiful surroundings. There are many parks and recreational facilities around the lake, perfect for families or friends to take a walk or have a picnic. At night, the lakeside lights create a charming night view. Free admission, open all day.
Food Recommendations
Gushan Momo
This is a specialty food of Changqing, made with traditional craftsmanship. It has a chewy texture and rich wheat aroma. You can eat it directly or pair it with various dishes—delicious either way.
Zhangxia Jade Apricot
Zhangxia Town is known as the “Hometown of China’s Jade Apricot.” The jade apricots here have delicate flesh, juicy and sweet. The apricot season is around June each year, so be sure to try fresh jade apricots.
Changqing Vegetable Bun
Filled with various vegetables, these buns have thin skin and generous filling, with a fresh taste and rich nutrition. They are a traditional local snack.
Xiaoli Watermelon
Watermelons from Xiaoli Town are large with thin skin and sweet, sandy flesh, famous throughout Jinan. In summer, eating a piece of sweet watermelon in Changqing is simply refreshing.
