Xishuanbanna. That what was on the train information table. Difficult to pronounce and surprising to realise there is a Thai sign on the train that departures as well as any other information shared through the speakers after I get on the train. It was something very promising to find.

After not being able to leave China since 2020, to be precise after not being able to come back of leave, there was a high desire to escape at least for a short period of time to a different culture or place. Especially, the fact that I travelled almost every 3 montha before the COVID outbreak and zero COVID cases policy in China.

When I arrived the excitement was even higher, the closer I was getting to the city tourist area which is called Gaozhuang. From the very first view here the cozyness of those narrow beautiful streets filled with little coffee shops and restaurants sorounded with a gaze of Thai spiciness made it look like #yunnan is not available, then Xishuanbanna is a great option.
