#favouriteitinerary Slow Day Cafe has become a staple for us whenever we’re in Mount Austin for a JB day trip. With its exquisite matcha offerings, thoughtfully curated Nordic-inspired interiors, and plush sofa seating, it’s the perfect sanctuary to unwind and recharge.
This time, we indulged in their matcha gateau cake and Vienna matcha—both absolute standouts. The matcha gateau cake was a rich, decadent delight with a velvety custard-like center and a delicate cream topping, delivering a deep, aromatic matcha intensity without overpowering sweetness. The Vienna matcha was luxuriously smooth, topped with a luscious layer of cream that perfectly complemented its earthy, umami notes—a must-try for any matcha enthusiast.
Beyond the impeccable flavors, the ambiance at Slow Day Cafe is what truly sets it apart. The minimalist Nordic aesthetic, warm lighting, and inviting sofa seats create an effortlessly cozy and tranquil atmosphere. At the back, a brightly lit art corner offers art jamming sessions, adding a creative and interactive element to the space.
We also spotted other intriguing matcha creations, like the strawberry matcha latte, for those who enjoy a refreshing fruity twist. Whether you're seeking a serene escape, a creative retreat, or simply a place to savor artisanal matcha treats, Slow Day Cafe never fails to impress. It’s a spot we’ll continue returning to every time we visit Mount Austin.
