#springitinerary We spent a leisurely afternoon at The Early Bird in JB’s Taman Melodies, a café that effortlessly marries minimalist elegance with cozy warmth. The space is bathed in soft, natural light that filters through large windows, illuminating the gentle hues of light wood, white walls, and subtle greenery. Every corner feels thoughtfully designed — from the clean-lined furniture to the delicate potted plants — creating a calm sanctuary perfect for unwinding.
Our meal began with the lemongrass chicken, presented with such care that it was almost too pretty to eat. The chicken was tender and juicy, infused with vibrant lemongrass flavors that lifted every bite with bright, zesty freshness. Next came the salmon ochazuke, a bowl of pure comfort and artistry. Flaked salmon rested atop fragrant rice soaked in a delicate green tea broth, accented with crispy nori and toasted sesame seeds — a harmonious balance of textures and soothing warmth that felt like a gentle hug in a bowl.
For dessert, the strawberry soufflé arrived like a cloud of sweetness, its airy, lofty rise perfectly capturing the essence of lightness. Each spoonful was infused with the fresh, natural sweetness of ripe strawberries, making it both an elegant and heartwarming finale.
To accompany these delights, we sipped on iced white coffee — velvety smooth, subtly sweet, and refreshingly cool, rounding off our meal with a perfect balance of creaminess and chill.
The Early Bird is a hidden gem where aesthetic charm meets culinary comfort. It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down, savor the moment, and appreciate how beautiful and comforting food can be when served in a setting this thoughtfully crafted. A true oasis in Taman Melodies and a must-visit for those who value both style and substance.
