Kagoshima Chuo Station

Kagoshima-Chuo Station, the terminal station of the Kyushu Shinkansen, is a popular spot for shopping and dining, featuring Amu Plaza and the station building.
The Gourmet Alley and Souvenir Alley near the station's ticket gates are a convenient place to stop by for a quick meal or souvenir shopping before or after your train.

It's also the departure and arrival point for sightseeing buses and regular sightseeing buses that circulate around Kagoshima City's tourist spots, and there's also a tram stop, making it a great base for sightseeing in Kagoshima.

The symbol of Kagoshima-Chuo Station is the large Ferris wheel at Amu Plaza, approximately 60 meters in diameter. At its highest point, it's approximately 91 meters, offering a great view of the cityscape and its scale. As you rise, you can see Sakurajima through the buildings, and if you're lucky, you might even be able to see a parked Shinkansen train from above. The last boarding time is at 10:45 PM, so you can enjoy the night view to the fullest.
