It turns out that the Kaifeng Tower is not made of iron! You must see it when you arrive in Kaifeng, because the Kaifeng Iron Tower has gone through vicissitudes of life and is like a thousand-year epic engraved on bricks and stones.
Although it is called the "Iron Tower", it is actually made entirely of brown glazed bricks, which reflect an iron-colored glow under sunlight, hence the name.
The Iron Tower was built in the first year of Huangyou in the Northern Song Dynasty (1049 AD). It has spanned nearly a thousand years and has experienced many earthquakes, floods and wars, but it has always stood firm. Today, the Eiffel Tower has been transformed into the Eiffel Tower Park. In the park, there are tall sycamore trees and blooming roses, and the Eiffel Tower stands tall and solemn among them. In the cultural hall under the tower, the past and present of the tower are displayed:
🌟Highlights:
The tower is octagonal and has 13 floors, reaching a height of 55.88 meters. The glazed bricks are decorated with exquisite patterns such as flying apsaras, unicorns, bodhisattvas, and musicians. Each piece embodies the exquisite skills of ancient craftsmen.
[○] Thousands of years ago, it witnessed the prosperity of the city of Bianliang. During the Jin and Yuan dynasties, it stood firm amidst the turmoil of dynasty change. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, the Yellow River floods approached several times, but it still stood tall against natural disasters. In the smoke of modern artillery fire, most of the surrounding buildings have become ruins, but it is the only one that has been preserved with bullet holes all over its body, telling the story of history. In 1958, professionals repaired it, giving the ancient tower a new lease of life while retaining the unique charm bestowed by time.
Nowadays, there are fixed performances and markets in the park for tourists to watch and relax.
