A Solo Deep Dive into Kaohsiung

This time, I came to Kaohsiung alone to attend a concert and decided to stay for a few days to explore the city. Here’s the itinerary I planned, which might serve as a reference for you.

Day 1: Gangshan Skywalk, Sugar Factory, Kaohsiung Main Public Library
Day 2: Cijin Island, British Consulate at Takao, Xiziwan Sunset
Day 3: Pier-2 Art Center, KW2 Warehouse, Dagang Bridge
Day 4: Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum, Dream Mall
Day 5: Dadong Arts Center, Weiwu Ying Graffiti Village, National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying)

Gangshan Skywalk: Since fewer people visit nowadays, transportation can be a bit inconvenient.

Cijin Island: You’ll need to take a ferry to get there. The island offers a variety of local snacks and attractions.

Pier-2 Art Center: Located near KW2 Warehouse and Dagang Bridge, you can take the light rail to explore each stop. There are many creative shops and markets.

Dagang Bridge: You can watch the bridge’s horizontal rotation every day at the 15-minute mark.

Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum: In addition to the magnificent Buddha statue, there are also art exhibitions.

Dadong Arts Center: The large art library inside houses various art books, including dance, painting, photography, and more. The center also features performance halls and exhibition spaces.

Weiwu Ying Graffiti Village: Mainly for appreciating murals.
