Pork Chop Rice (2 side dishes + Braised Tofu) $150
Miso Soup $10
Arriving in Kaohsiung just past lunchtime, I luckily found a parking spot and decided to stop for lunch.
Since it was after the lunch rush, there weren’t many customers. The staff introduced the menu in detail. For dine-in, seating is available both under the arcade and in the alley, which is cooler.
The pork chop rice portion is quite generous, and I liked the flavors of the side dishes. The broccoli had the perfect texture, and the tomato scrambled eggs were delicious, pairing well with the rice.
Under the pork chop, there’s pickled cabbage, which is flavorful and complements the rice without being overly salty. The rice is topped with braised minced pork, a signature Kaohsiung flavor. The pork chop has a traditional taste—not too tough, though slightly greasy.
The 10-dollar miso soup doesn’t have much in it, but it’s quite tasty.
