Qihou Fort in Kaohsiung City

Qihou Fort in Kaohsiung City is a historical artillery site located on Qihou Mountain in the Qijin District. Originally built during the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty, it was later renovated with more modern equipment. Due to its strategic location at the high point of the Kaohsiung Harbor entrance, it played a crucial role in guarding the harbor alongside the Qihou Lighthouse and the Xiongzhen North Gate on the opposite side. Although it no longer serves a military purpose, the site has been preserved as a cultural heritage monument. Visitors can experience the historical atmosphere of the fort and enjoy panoramic views of the colorful Qijin Old Street and its stunning surroundings.
