The fort next to the coast, Sheliao East Fort

Location: East of Heping Island, Keelung City

Introduction: Sheliao Fort is located in the east of Heping Island, Keelung City. The fort has gone through three important periods in Taiwan. The foundation of the fort was built during the Spanish period, and the main body of the fort was completed in 1891 (the 17th year of the Guangxu reign) under the leadership of Liu Mingchuan, the then governor of Taiwan, after the Sino-French War. The fort was rebuilt again during the Japanese period, and the expansion project was completed in 1903 (the 29th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu).

Experience: Sheliao East Fort is close to the coast and is a good place to enjoy the sea in Keelung. The entire trail is not long and you can reach the top in just five minutes. It is a place with friendly cultural relics and beautiful natural scenery.
