The Nostalgic Old Osaka Shosen Building

The Old Osaka Shosen Building was constructed in 1917 and later restored by the Moji branch of the Osaka Shosen Kaisha (OSK), a shipping company that sailed around the world. The building was used as a branch office until 1991.
With its majestic octagonal tower and tiled exterior, this building stands out as a prominent landmark. Today, the first floor of the building serves as a community space where visitors can appreciate the works of local artists and craftsmen. The building has two floors in total; the first floor, known as the 'Romantic Ocean Hall,' is free to enter, while the second floor is used as an exhibition hall and requires an admission fee.
