Just steps from Kofu Station, Maizuru Castle Park offers a quiet, open space full of history—and some pretty incredible views. Set on the grounds of the old Kofu Castle, the park is a lovely mix of stone walls, gentle paths, and scenic overlooks.

I wandered through the park slowly, taking in the wide skies and old castle foundations. It’s one of those places where you don’t need a plan—just enjoy the moment.

The real highlight? On a clear day, you can spot Mount Fuji in the distance. Seeing that iconic peak rise behind the historic stonework was a small but unforgettable moment.
