Castaway Resort

- The way to the restaurant/resort is through a house, which can be a bit confusing. Once inside, the accommodations resemble old-fashioned Thai houses, raised on stilts with a patio for relaxing.
- The restaurant is right on the beach, with lots of trees and it's not too hot. The beach itself is beautiful, but there are a lot of boats parked there.
- It can get quite crowded on weekends, so you might have to wait longer than usual. However, the service is good and they recommend the menu.
- The food menu has special promotions, like 3 items for 295 baht, or a happy hour for cocktails from 4-6 pm.
- Personally, I think the European style of cooking is better than the Thai style. For example, the fried som tam (som tam) was so oily and smelly, and it was fried too close together, making it difficult to eat. The lemongrass chicken had no flavor or visible lemongrass, so I don't really understand why it's called lemongrass, haha.
- The Thai-style nachos, bruschetta, and sausage and mash were all excellent. They were crispy and the sauce was delicious.
