Scuba diving at Koh Tao

What to do on Koh Tao? This is the question we ask when planning a trip. With 6 days of vacation, what activities should we do on the island besides diving? Just search for “Koh Tao activities” and you will find a ton of options. But what caught our eyes the most was scuba diving. Koh Tao has many international standard scuba diving schools. In the past, there were many foreign tourists studying there. However, Koh Tao is a bit quiet these days. Luckily for Thais, various tourism businesses on Koh Tao are offering special discounts. For example, we chose to study with Crystal Dive, the PADI standard Open Water course, a 4-day, 3-night course with accommodation for 9,900 baht. The accommodation was very good and right next to the sea. We chose to study the Thai language course. The instructor was named Kru Ek. He taught well and was very patient. On the first day, we would learn theory from a video for 3 hours. Then on the second day, we would practice in the pool. If we can pass the various skill levels well, it would not take much time. However, we had to retake every level 😅 So we had to soak in the water from morning until evening. In total, it was almost 8 hours. We were really tired. But in order to be more skilled before going into the sea We have to pass all skills. On the 3rd and 4th day, we will actually dive in the sea for 4 dives. I must say that this learning experience gave me a lot of life experience. For those who want to learn, I recommend getting fit, exercising regularly, and getting enough rest because your body must be truly ready for 4 days that you will never forget. After finishing the written exam and passing 80%, you will receive a PADI certificate and can go scuba diving abroad.
