Tiger Cave Temple is located in Tambon Krabi Noi, Mueang Krabi District, approximately 5–9 km from the city.
Established in 1975 by Luang Pho Chamnian, who had a vision of a cave that looked like a tiger’s paw print and that tigers used to live in that area, hence the name ‘Tiger Cave’.
🏯 Highlights
• Natural caves & Tiger paw prints: There are many caves, such as Tiger’s Hand Cave, Lod Cave, and a point where you can see tiger stripes on the rock walls. ()
• Challenging 1,237-step climbing route: Climb to the top of the mountain, over 600m high, for a 360° view of Krabi and the Andaman Sea.
• Replica of the Buddha’s Relic & Footprint: Located on the top of the mountain, at the viewpoint, and with a glass pagoda for worship.
• Chinese-style Guanyin Bodhisattva: Over 5m high, located in the temple below. Anyone who comes must go and pray.
🧗♂️ Feelings upon arrival
• The walk up is quite tiring. Especially during hot weather – You should prepare water, snacks and rest along the way.
• When you reach the top, the view is stunning, you can see Krabi town, Ao Nang and the intricate limestone mountains – It feels like you have completed your mission (It takes 45-90 minutes, depending on your fitness)()
• On a lucky day, you might see the sea of fog during September-January (early morning)
