The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur

The majestic hotel KualaLumpur, known as the Peace Hotel of Kuala Lumpur, opened in 1925 and was the most luxurious hotel in Kuala Lumpur during the colonial period. On the original site of the early 20th century construction, a new high-rise building was built in recent years, so it is divided into old and new wings, continuing the luxurious colonial style of the 1900s while also having the convenience of a modern hotel. 🥰
The new wing is the tower wing, with rooms of 40m’ and equipped with bathtubs; the old wing is the original site of the hotel built in 1925, exuding a strong sense of luxury and old money. The hotel’s colonial afternoon tea area, orchid greenhouse, restaurant, and smoking room are all in the old wing. On the night of our arrival, there was an Indian grandfather guarding the gate. I pushed open the old cream-colored glass door and walked through the various areas of the old wing. Faint music was flowing in the air, and it was as if I had gone back in time. I instantly found myself in the Nanyang of 100 years ago, and I fell in love with this hotel at once. 😍
I stayed in the tower wing for one night, and then decisively upgraded to the Colonial Suite in the old wing; the room was filled with a retro Nanyang style from the color of the wallpaper to the decorations and furniture; the bathroom was very large and equipped with a retro bathtub. 🤓
The buffet breakfast is on the first floor of the tower wing, with a wide variety of options. Malaysia is a place where many ethnic groups blend together, so the food is diverse in flavor, including Indian, Malay, Chinese and Western flavors. Basically, you can eat common Malaysian dishes such as various curry rice, flying cakes, nasi lemak with rendang beef, etc. I personally like Banlan products, so I love its Banlan buns. 😚
💞Recommendation reasons:
The security guards at the hotel entrance are still wearing uniforms from a hundred years ago, which is very eye-catching; the hotel also sells bears wearing the same uniforms, 100 Malaysian ringgit each; the afternoon tea in the orchid greenhouse is also a major feature, which needs to be booked in advance. ☺️
But I think the Colonial cafe area next to it is more beautiful and more full of old Nanyang style. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry and didn't make an appointment for afternoon tea there, which is a pity; in the evening, there will be singers playing in colonial cafe, and if you order a glass of wine, it will be very pleasant. 😛
There is the National Museum next to it, and the old Central Station is next door; another 5 minutes walk to the National Mosque; about 20 minutes walk from the National Mosque to the Independence Square and the Mural Street. 🔥
Before checking in, I was a little worried about the hotel's long history and that I would not be able to sleep well, but in fact, I slept very well, so there was no need to worry.
