My hike to the Blue Lake at Taman Awam BBKP in Johor Bahru was a refreshing escape into nature’s calm. Tucked away from the usual bustle, the trail began quietly, weaving through patches of green with a steady incline that promised something special at the top. The air felt cooler as I climbed, and the sounds of the city faded behind a chorus of birds and rustling leaves.
The path wasn’t too difficult, but enough to feel like a real hike—stone steps, earthy trails, and shaded segments that opened up to pockets of views along the way. With each step, anticipation built, and soon, the lake revealed itself—serene, deep blue, and framed by rocky cliffs. The color of the water was unexpectedly vivid, almost unreal, like a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Johor.
I stood by the edge for a while, taking in the contrast between the vibrant water and the earthy tones around it. It was quiet—no crowds, no noise—just stillness. The lake seemed untouched, reflecting the sky and nearby trees like a natural mirror. I sat on a nearby rock, letting the breeze cool me down, and watched as the sun cast soft ripples across the surface.
It wasn’t a long hike, but the reward at the end made it feel like a little adventure. The Blue Lake, hidden within BBKP Park, felt like one of those secret places that you accidentally fall in love with—humble, beautiful, and perfect for a short but meaningful escape.
