If you want to experience authentic local life in Kunming, skip the touristy malls and head to Daguanzuanxin Farmers’ Market. This bustling neighborhood market is where locals shop for everything — from fresh fruits and vegetables 🥬 to spices, snacks, and live seafood 🐟.

• Go in the morning (before 11am) for the liveliest scene
• Bring small change in case WeChat or Alipay fails (happens to us a few times. Due to our local banks’ anti-scam measure probably)
• Look out for regional specialties like cross-bridge rice noodles or pickled vegetables
