Visitors can explore the historic East Gate Corner Tower, enjoy panoramic views of the city from the top, and take photos of the stunning architecture. It's also a great spot to learn about Beijing’s ancient defensive systems.

Dongbianmen is a small gate at the southeastern end of Beijing's Outer City. It can be reached by walking eastward along the ancient city wall from the Ming City Wall Ruins Park. It primarily consists of a city tower and an arrow tower, built on a square pedestal protruding from the outer edge of the city wall. The building is L-shaped in plan, with a double-eaved hip roof and two large ridges intersecting at the corners to form a cross. It is decorated with gray tiles with green trim. On the 100-meter-long southern wall, facing the corner tower, a stone flag-raising pole used by the Zhenglan Banner Army during the Qing Dynasty still remains.
Climbing the city wall, I gazed out into the distance. Green grass seemed to stretch to the horizon along the vast, desolate ancient walls. In the distance, tall buildings loomed, a crisscrossing of past and present amidst the fragments. The Beijing Railway Station runs alongside the city wall, and the occasional roar of a passing train shatters the memory of the ancient walls. The scenery was beautiful, and my thoughts were full.
