Nestled at the foot of Black Dragon Pool in northern Kunming, the Kunming Botanical Garden is not just a garden – it’s a living laboratory where over 7,000 plant species thrive across 44 hectares. Founded in 1938, this research-driven paradise showcases Yunnan’s incredible biodiversity, from rare Himalayan rhododendrons to ancient ferns, all while serving as a serene escape for plant lovers and families.
Visitor Tips:
· Best Time: Spring (March-May) for rhododendrons; autumn for maple leaf colors.
· Must-See: The Alpine Greenhouse simulating Himalayan conditions – misty and magical.
